Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This policy covers the Minding mobile app ("App") and the website www.minding.life ("Website"), operated by Minding Life Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 9972847 ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for the personal data described below.

2. The App

The App has no accounts, sign-in, push notifications or cloud sync. It does not ask you for your name, email address, location or any other information, and your meditation activity stays on your device except for the analytics described below.

Analytics. The App uses two analytics services, Flurry and Google Firebase Analytics. They record how the App is used: how often and when you open it, which meditations and screens you use, and which features are used most. They also collect technical information such as device type, operating system and app version, approximate location derived from your IP address, and an identifier assigned to your installation of the App.

This data is not linked to your name or email address, but because the identifier is persistent, it may count as personal data under UK GDPR. We use it only to understand how the App is used and to improve it. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in doing so. The App does not ask for permission before analytics start, and there is no setting inside the App to turn them off. Uninstalling the App stops any further collection. Flurry and Google process this data under their own privacy policies:

Donations: Donations made through the App are processed by Apple or Google. We do not see or store your card or payment details, and their privacy policies apply to that processing.

3. The Website

Mailing list. If you subscribe to our mailing list, we collect your name and email address so we can send you the material you signed up for. Our legal basis is your consent, and you can withdraw it at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email. Emails are sent using SendFox, which stores your details on our behalf under its own privacy policy: [link]. The mailing list is separate from the App and is not connected to any App data.

Enquiries. If you email us, we collect your name, email address and message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.

Cookies. The Website is hosted by Squarespace, which uses cookies and similar technologies to operate the site and to measure visits.

4. Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent personal data. We share it only with the service providers named above (Flurry, Google, SendFox, Squarespace) and with authorities where the law requires it.

5. International Transfers

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, including in the United States. Where they do, transfers rely on safeguards recognised under UK GDPR, such as an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.

6. How Long We Keep Data

- App analytics: Firebase Analytics data is kept for 2 months. Flurry keeps data under its own policy.

- Mailing list: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete your details.

- Enquiry emails: kept in our email inbox until we delete them, or until you ask us to.

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR (and EU GDPR if you are in the EU) you can ask to access, correct or erase your personal data, object to or restrict its processing, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Email monty@minding.life and we will respond within one month. Because App analytics data is not linked to your name or email, we may not be able to identify which data is yours.

You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

8. Children

The App is not aimed at anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We will publish updates here and in the App and change the date above. If a change is material, we will tell you more prominently.
